Learning a new language is hard. What is even harder is the culture and slangs behind the language. That's no wonder among the 600k foreigners who live in China, only a fraction can speak Mandarin fluently. I echoed this feeling when I first came to America - it was harder to order a sandwich in Subway than understanding a grad school lecture. There were simply so many kinds of cheeses that I didn't even know there Chinese names! My friends and I started this "pet project" aiming to help foreigners in China learn and practice oral Mandarin easily.
